i just got a northface mako hydration pack and i can't get the water to come up thru the hose...help!?

I intend on using this back pack during a 60 mile breast cancer walk next weekend so i really need to figure out what the problem is. it has a bite valve, so i've been trying to suck the water up through the hose but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. Please help!!!

I don't have a northface brand but here are a few general tips.
1 make sure the lips of the bite valve are split new ones are mostly sealed and you most break the seal before any water will flow out. roll the valve between your fingers hard until you see the lips open.
2 make sure all valves are open.
3 place the bladder with hose connection at the bottom fill cap at the top
4 try blowing some air into the bladder the pressure helps with the flow.
