What disease might I have?
My boyfriend and I like to put on backpacks and hiking boots and pretend we're on that show, "The Amazing Race". We go around the neighborhood knocking over trashcans looking for "clues" and "flags"... and running up to people out walking their dogs to ask them "Which way to the Taj Mahal?" or "How do we get to Colonial Williamsburg?".
Anyway... we were immersed in a rather exciting journey through the Great Pyramids of Egypt and were rummaging through an ancient vessel of treasures (Mrs. Johnson's recycling bin) when I felt my hand immersed in a stinking, gel-like substance.
I played it off as though I had stuck my hand into the innards of a crushed Scarab Beetle that had come to life... but now I have been cursed with a rather disturbing outbreak.
It's rashy, red, and itchy. In the bin there were mostly canopic jars (empty Mt. Dew bottles) and mummified cats (balled up Syran Wrap).
What do you think I've contracted?
Your slightly overactive imagination makes the story a little difficult to follow (no "dis" to you, just a suggestion that maybe when you are asking a serious question, you should downplay your Agatha Christie tendencies). Anyway, from what I've gathered, you were sticking your hands into random people's trash, and now you have some sort of rash? However, since I don't know exactly what you touched, it's a little difficult to say. It could possibly be an allergic reaction, or some sort of contact dermatitis. Or you could have contracted poison ivy (yes, you can even get it now). I would probably see the doctor, and see if he/she recommends any thing for this rash...(however, I would try to make the story a little less colorful, because most doctors try to keep their appointments as short as possible...hee, hee). Thanks for the entertainment. You really should consider becoming a fiction writer.
Thanks for visiting!
