How to attach sleepin mat to Karrimor Kodiak 30 rucksack?

Recently bought a Kodiak 30 bag and am very happy with it.
However, I am going on an expedition in 2 weeks, and have yet been able to attach my sleeping mat.

Is it possible? If so how?

Thanks
I'm not sure where these "side straps" are?
I understand how I would normally attach a sleeping mat to a bag. What I am struggling with, is how to on this particular rucksack.

My girls could work out that kind of stuff at 7 years old, not that we ever used sleeping mats even on Alpine rock.
Tie it on with string or use a bungee cord or use the straps provided if they are long enough. The usual places to fix them are under the pack or on top of it. Take your choice.
I would fix it underneath If I had one but I never use them. A tent goes there instead.
Look at the pack. You'll see some long bits.. Those are straps.
The ones that don't go over your shoulders or round your waist and hip level are compression straps or fixing straps to fix things to the pack with.
Karrimor is an excellent brand I always recommend, along with Vango Lowe Alpine and Berghaus.
The Kodiak 30 has side straps called compression straps. When you get them tight they compress the bag but you can use them for fixing things to the bag as well.
They won't be a lot of good for your sleeping mat though if it doesn't roll up small enough.
