Is there a hydration bladder that doesn't taste like plastic or how do I get that taste out of my Camelbak?
Just got a camelbak unbottle 70 for my pack. Never had a hydration bladder before. It tastes so bad like plastic that my last hike I just took water bottles. Because of similar answers, I went through a round of bleach and then baking soda; might have helped a little but not much. I may just return the thing but I bought it online so I'll take a hit. Any advice for a different bladder to go with or, even better, a more effective way to get that nasty taste out of mine?
I just purchased a bladder this past Friday night for use on a cross country hike on Saturday. The packaging guaranteed "no plastic taste". I was skeptical, but I refilled it several times along the way [holds 2 liters]; water tasted pure the entire day. Might sound silly, but my blow-dryer has a button that causes it to blow ONLY cool air. Dried it out perfectly. Brand name is "Platypus". Got it at a local sporting goods store on sale for less than $12.
