What are some volunteer/summer jobs in Yosemite National Park closely related to "Backpacking."?
I'm wanting to live and work in Yosemite National Park this upcoming summer. I absolutely love backpacking, camping, and hiking. I know there are obviously other positions, but are there any related to this where I would be in the backcountry a lot of the time?
The park has volunteer jr rangers that hike in or ride horseback and try to enforce the wilderness regulations and make sure that hikers are where they are supposed to be these guys and gals usually work in pairs and have satellite communication phones to call backup and radio in emergencies. In all my years I have only bumped into them once when I was returning from a trip I had to cut short due to a knee injury. I camped where I was not registered too camp.
