What is the best air cooled heatsink for overclocking an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600?
I am going to buy an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 for my PC but I want to overclock it from 2.4ghz to 3.0ghz. So I need some advice on what would be the best air cooled heatsink/fan to use when overclocking the Q6600 and keep it will keep the processor cool at 3.0ghz
Im running the q6600 and I am Overclocked at 3.12ghz cooling it with an Ultra Chilltec cpu cooler. Ive heard of some people using this cooler that have hit as high as 4ghz stable with the q6600.

to add to my above, my cpu at 35% is at 36*C about 99*F with this cooler. Peltier coolers are the way to go. It like an a/c for your cpu.
for badandy... you dont have much of an overclock going on, and thats what this guy wants... my cpu is overvolted as is my RAM, PCIE and MCP. q6600s become unstable quickly unless cooled properly when OC'd and air cooling alone is not the way to go, sorry bro. you quad isnt a q6600, so its not up your alley, sorry bro.
you went up a whopping .9ghz - while Ive had this q6600, mostly stable at well over 4ghz, thats a 1.2+ghz gain. If I water cool it, thats an easy 4.7 to 5ghz on this uncostly chip. Why the Chilltec, cause you can stand to gain from it aswell and boost your mighty quad much higher than air alone can accomplish and have constant, consistent cooling well below ambient temp.
3.72ghz, lol, I'll do that now and post my clock speed aswell as my temp - next restart that info will be posted.
